My Review

I know when I buy a Cameo Renae book I'm going to get a satisfying read. Wings of Vengeance doesn't disappoint. With plenty of action and romance, even some gross battle scenes, I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what Cameo creates next. I know it's going to be great. 5 stars!

My family is what keeps my heart beating, and my world a happy place to be.

I was born in San Francisco, raised in Maui, Hawaii, and recently moved with my husband and children to Alaska.
I'm a daydreamer, a caffeine and peppermint addict. I love to laugh, love to read, and love to escape reality. One of my greatest joys is creating fantasy worlds filled with adventure and romance, and sharing it with others.
One day I hope to find my own magic wardrobe, and ride away on a magical unicorn. Until then...I'll keep writing!

Chapter 1
“Emma, wake up.” I blinked several times, trying to focus in the darkness, only to find Kade’s distraught eyes hovering close by. “Another nightmare?” he asked.
I nodded, wiping the beads of sweat from my brow and then cuddled close to him, resting my head on his chest. The beating of his heart had a way of calming my anxiety, soothing my every fear.
“Maybe you should talk to Alaine,” he whispered, pressing his lips to the top of my head.
“I’ll talk to her in the morning,” I exhaled.
“You’re shaking.” His hands rubbed down my arms. “Was it about me?”
I could sense a hint of concern in his voice.
“No,” I breathed. “It was about Alaine this time.”
I tried to erase the visions of her scorched and blistered body from my mind, but it was still there. In full color. Terrorizing me. The smell of smoke was still lingering in my nose, and the heat of the flames still felt warm on my skin.
I didn’t want to worry anyone with my troubles, but it was the third time this week I’d woken Kade with these horrifying nightmares. Every night it was a different loved one, and they were getting stronger as they progressed.
What was most unnerving was the shadowy figure with onyx wings present in every one. I could never make out the face but could sense its twisted pleasure as it watched me suffer.
I’d had enough of watching my loved ones endure horrible and painful deaths. Although they were nightmares, the pain was real and lingered for days after. It was something I couldn’t just erase. These dreams ate at my soul, keeping me tight in its cold, indifferent arms, holding on through my waking hours.
I prayed they weren’t premonitions, and I prayed Kade wouldn’t be in any future nightmares. I’d watched him suffer in real life, and it’d shattered my entire being. Now that we were bonded, watching it happen again would kill me.
I glanced over at the clock. It was four in the morning, but I didn’t want to go back to sleep.
“Where are you going?” Kade asked as I slipped from the warmth of his arms.
“To make some coffee and read the book Lia sent me.”
“You sure you don’t want to stay here with me?”
“You know I do, I just don’t want to go back to sleep.”
His hazel eyes swirled with desire. “I didn’t say we had to sleep.”
“Are you seducing me, Mr. Anders?”
A grin played on his lips as he pulled the covers down. “Maybe.”
“Well then,” I exhaled, jumping in next to him. “Coffee can wait.”

Blurb: Emmy Neal needs a job. Desperately. Her grandfather, the only family she has, is in and out of the hospital due to various illnesses and the medical bills are stacking up. It's difficult to find a steady job in South Haven - everything is either taken or seasonal, except one. Jason Marshall needs a maid. His cabin and his eating habits have been declining recently, though, to be fair, they have always been in a slippery slope. Being out o the public's eye for the past five years has given him time to remember why he started rapping in the first place and work on his fourth studio album. The problem is, everyone still believes he killed his wife and her lover even though he was legally acquitted on a technicality, which makes the prospect of a comeback difficult to come by. If he can get one person to give him a chance, he knows others will, too. In this modern retelling of a classic fairytale, Emmy will learn that beasts can be beautiful, love can be dark, and attraction can be deadly.
Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 26 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real. I recently signed with Anchor Group Publishing, which will see two of my series being published this year. I've self-published over 15 books, with more on the way, so I'm familiar with both a hybrid-traditional publishing method as well as self-publishing.  I don't speak in third person (normally) nor do I wear glasses (except when I'm feeling particularly mischievous). I'm lucky to have found my soul mate at the ripe old age of 22, even though he frustrates me on purpose to get a reaction out of me. We live near Disneyland, have two rambunctious female puppies, and have a beautiful baby girl. He has two amazing boys, and has gotten me hooked on Smallville, watching soccer (okay, okay FOOTBALL - FC Barcelona, baby!), and Cancun Juice.

Scolding breath escaped Marseha’s lungs. Nightmares clouded her vision. She couldn’t talk, couldn’t see, couldn’t feel, but she knew. Knew that Saldor lived. For that she would fight beyond this Elders’ curse.
“Please, you must be well.” Risme’s soft voice flittered through the screams of her people now fading from her consciousness.
“It cannot be,” a deep voice sounded. His voice.
Coughing to clear the ashen smoke from the back of her throat, she answered, but no sound passed her lips. Sadness wept from her soul. Not her own sadness, but something of another realm. Thick, frightening, deathly, a bone-crunching energy pummeled her, Elders and witches both fighting within for control.
“Come back to me,” Risme whispered into her ear, an echo of promise if she survived the war within.
“I have never witnessed such a reaction to the amulet's removal,” a male voice said.
If the Elders and the Veiled Queen continued their battle, she’d be nothing but dust. Ancestors, I summon you. Break me from this madness.
A storm’s wind blew through her, hurling the control of others from her body. With a heave of breath, the madness went silent and her eyes saw beyond the dark mist. To a God. No, a man. A man with thick dark hair, brown eyes, full lips and the strength of a warrior. “Saldor?” she choked.
“Yes. Yes, it is me.” He remained a distance away, on his knees, his hands in his hair. His torn clothing revealed snatches of a man’s body, arms that she’d longed to feel around her for an eternity. No longer was he the boy she once knew.

Just a recap

Hey guys,

I thought i would write a blog post about what i've been up to since my last one.

After the stress of the last release, i went on a much needed holiday.

It's nothing something i ever thought i'd do as i tend to get bad motion sickness. And yes, i was ill most of the time, but those herbal sea sick pills are the best!

I really enjoyed my cruise. We boarded Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas to the north island of New Zealand and New Caledonia.

New Zealand was absolutely amazing and i wish i had more than 3 days there.

I got to visit the beautiful Bay of Islands, venture into a glow worm cave (it was so dark and cold but the little bugs were bright and looked like stars. It was easy to forget you were in a cave) and see the majestic and ancient Kauri trees. Then we sailed to Tauranga and i finally got to go to Hobbiton! OMG it was more than words can express. It was surreal that i was actually there.
Next stop was Auckland.

I just love visiting cities of the world. It's one of the things on my bucket list - visit almost all the capital cities of the world. Auckland did not disappoint. It was a gorgeous day. My mum and i went up to the Sky Tower and i conquered my fear of heights by peering through the glass panels in the floor to the ground way below. It was freaking scary. Then we went up higher to the top observation deck and that was even scarier but i got some amazing photos and vantage points of the entire harbour.
Then we devoured a much needed coffee, and Oh my God! After living on bad american coffee for a few days, we were dying for 'real' coffee. Kiwi coffee is even better than Aussie coffee. It was divine.

After we inhaled our incredible coffee, we caught a ferry across the harbour, 45 minutes to Waiheke island because it was such a glorious sunny day. Waiheke Island is known as the Island of Wine, so of course, when on the Island of Wine, what do you do? We caught the bus a minute up the road from the pier and checked out the shops. As we were short on time and had to be back at the ship by 5pm, we found a bar and had a glass of wine. Now, we usually drink Kiwi wine at home, so we knew it was going to be good. And it was! I wanted to stay there longer, but we had to get back to Auckland, so we grabbed a NZ icecream and boarded the bus that would take us back to the pier.
If you have never tried kiwi icecream, you are missing out! It was the best icecream i have ever tasted. In fact, all the dairy i had over there was the best i have ever tasted.

Fate is funny. Fate is clever. On the ferry back to Auckland, we talked to a lovely Kiwi lady who was on a holiday with her family. We talked about what we each were doing on our trip, and when i mentioned i was an author, she said she may have heard of me. I wrote down my details and she said she was going to look me up. She also said that her niece was an author too. I wish i can remember exacly who she said, Kate or Kelly Curaro? I'm not sure of the spelling. Because i was on holidays i didn't do anything about it. Oh, well. It's funny the people you meet while travelling.

On the ship, i also met some lovely people. I got hit on by a handsome room attendant from Guatamala. It was nice testing out my spanish on him. LOL. Seriously though, it might just be that many of the international people on there hadn't seen a woman in who knows how long, or something. I don't know what it was, but i felt attractive for maybe the first time in my life. I was always that weirdo nerd girl that nobody wanted to sit with in the school playground and not being able to get a boyfriend, at 28 years old i was now finding that i was attracting the attention of the opposite sex. What happened? Lol. I haven't done anything different. I made friends with one of my waiters at dinner, a cute Filipino guy the same age as me. I made a passing comment about wanting to learn more languages, and he wrote down a page full of filiopino phrases on the back of the dessert menu, so i could quote, "remember your favourite dessert". I don't know if i'm reading more into it than i should, but he could have picked any other set of phrases for me to learn. He kept telling me i was beautiful. *shrugs*.

It felt good and it was a great mood lifter.

That was the gist of my holiday, now it's back into work and book stuff.

I've already been working hard to bring you the next book. I don't want to rush or stress the process so i am taking my time with each book this year so i'll enjoy being an author again.

It was nice not being on social media for 2 weeks, but i've missed you guys and it's nice to be back.

Oh, and if you missed my latest spontaneous cover reveal the other day, i'll share them with you here as well as the pre-order links. The Kindle links will be available on their release days.

Here's the covers for my upcoming series, Hidden Magic.
